Beautiful clean and cosy cottage in a great location. Close enough to shops and pubs as just off the main street but very quiet and private. Parking for 2 cars next to cottage.
Excellent walks straight from the cottage and plenty of information about local area left by Ian and Sam.
Fully equipped kitchen and loved the aga, cooked a great roast beef dinner.
Plenty of space for 4 adults and 2 dogs.
Comfy beds. Would definitely visit again. Highly recommended.

We booked over the Christmas period for 4 nights. On arrival the house was decorated beautifully with Christmas decorations and had a lovely welcome pack waiting for us with clear instructions on everything we would need to make us feel at home.
Six of us stayed and it was the perfect size. All the bedrooms are spacious and clean and it has 2 toilets and showers. It has plenty of space in the living room and a table for 6 in the dining room. It is well equipped and is literally 200m from the bakery and main street where you will find a good selection of pubs and places to visit.
You are just the right distance for it to be perfectly quiet and away from the crowds!
You are a stones through away from the hills and slopes of Mam Tor and Loose Hill which offer incredible hikes and views of the surrounding area!
We can't thank Ian & Sam enough for making our stay over Christmas so perfect!
We'll definitely be recommending!!
Not surprised this place gets fully booked!

It’s a beautiful cottage located in a very convenient location to all activities and restaurants. The hosts are clearly professional and specific with all their instructions. The cottage is well equipped with what we need.

Beautiful property, lovely gardens which we didn’t use due to the weather, but would like to return in the warmer months.
Cosy lounge with log burner, lovely comfortable sofas.
Very comfortable beds and pillows, modern and clean bathroom.
Kitchen had everything you needed and more.
We will definitely stay again!

Lovely accommodation, beautiful surroundings and close to the village centre. So everything we wanted was in walking distance. The place was spotless with clear instructions on how everything worked. Ideal base for our walking holiday. The weather was kind to us. But if it hadn’t been. It would have been a lovely place to spend some chill out time playing cards and board games. Would definitely recommend and will be back.

I have stayed in a number of Airbnb properties and Trickett Gate House has been the best.
The property is beautifully decorated and the gardens are well cared for.
The house is excellently equipped with everything you could possibly need.
As far as hosts, Ian and Sam were fantastic. As a result of a miscommunication on my part a matter had to be resolved at the start of the holiday. They couldn’t have been more understanding and suggested a perfect resolution.
I would highly recommend a stay at this property. It is in a beautiful setting and we were lucky to have the weather to enjoy the sun trap at the back patio. However, I would imagine it would be equally enjoyable during the winter months snuggling in front of the fire.
It was overall superb.

What a wonderful cottage with everything you need for a great holiday. They have thought of everything and we felt at home immediately.
The garden areas make the most of the sun with seating areas that folllow the sunshine.
The house has ample room for 6 and the bedrooms are lovely.
Downstairs there is room for everyone including any dogs.
We could have stayed much longer and was very sad to leave.

Our whole family just LOVED our stay at Trickett Gate House! It was spacious, spotless, extremely well equipped and felt like a true home away from home. Actually, we were all a bit sad when it was time to leave! We are taking home some wonderful family memories from our time in Castletown, and the house is a big part of that. Thanks for sharing your accommodation with us Ian and Sam. I can’t imagine anywhere more lovely to have stayed.
Trickett Gate House is every bit as beautiful as the photos suggest. My family and I spent a very happy and very welcome few days here in August and we could not have chosen a better place. Firstly Castleton is a fantastic village with all the amenities you could want, but still small enough to keep its character. As we have been shielding, we didn't take advantage of the many pubs, cafes and restaurants, but we made a careful note of them as we are definitely planning to be back! There are walks to suit all abilities from the door. We parked our car in the generous space provided and didn't get in it again until we were heading back…
